D23 expo recap

D23 expo was this past weekend at the Anaheim convention center. It comes ever other year and it was my first time going.

I decided to go as Vanessa, Ursuala’s alter ego on land. The costume I made turned out great.

I got in line about 7 am the convention opened at 10 am.

The nice thing is that D23 expo had stage pass for some panels. It’s basically like a fast pass so you don’t have to wait in line for hours and hours. I was able to stag a pass for the shorts panel.

The short panel discussed the different shorts featured in the new DVD. The coolest thing was a sketch book they gave to all audience members.

Another cool thing about the expo was a chance to visit the Disneyland archives.  It featured props from rides, photos, badges, and costumes.  I took a ton of photos.

This was the end of the collection. Amazing!!!

There were tons of phot opportunities and amazing cosplays. I was lucky to take some photos with some amazing cosplayers.

Sven let’s go save Anna
My favorite had to be this one with Flynn Rider. Move Eric I have my eye on Flynn, Maximus doesn’t approve. Can’t help it Flynn stole my heart.
fellow cosplayers

I really was a fan of cosplayers that cosplayed less popular characters, Mr. and Mrs. Darling (Wendy’s parents) Olivia (Great Mouse Detective) King Steffan and the Queen (Aurora’s parents) and the Haunted Mansion (Amber Arden’s tightrope girl was amazing)

There was another great opportunity to take a photo on a Star Wars speed racer. It was pretty awesome.

I attended an artist signing of Jasmine Becket Griffith. I love her art work. Picket up a Snow White postcard.

Disney Infinity has a booth too. Uou had an opportunity to choose one of six figurines after their interactive experience. I was one of the last in line to get this opportunity, the line was two hours long but for a free infinity figure so worth it.

I picked up Sadness. She’s so cute.

Got to get a sneak peak of Disney Shanghai.

And another sneak peek of Pandora at Animal Kingdom

Plus there will be a lot of exciting with the announcement of Star Wars land in Disneyland and DisneyWorld. So much exciting new developments and expansions. It’s an amazing era for Disney. Can’t wait to see all the developments completed.

Plus all the cute products that will come out soon for Disney style at the Disney store.

It was an amazing day and I ended the day sailing back to the sea. After all Vanessa can’t remain on land forever.
I did buy a few things and scored some free stuff. I loved my Aristocats prints I bought and my Disney Vans. I loved the Ariel ones. Ironic that Vanessa bought Ariel shoes but it was the only way to get a little mermaid.

It was a fabulous day can’t wait for 2017. Thanks for reading, have a magical day.

Ariels at Disneyland

My friend was in town this past week and we both decided to go bounding as Ariel to Disneyland. I went as the Kiss the Girl Ariel and my friend went as Pink Dress Ariel.  We took Flouder with us  and he did swimmingly.

We got a little goofy with Goofy.

something is fishy

And we took some pictures with Ariel

And lots of Princess

We had some fun in Disney California Adventure with Flounder.

  Taking a spin on Mater

Flounder helped us pump gas cause flipping your fins to get around doesn’t work on land.
He even took at ride on Triton’s carousel.

And of course took a ride on the Little Mermaid, because obviously.

It was a great time and we had a blast.

Thanks for reading. Hope this inspires you to bound on your next Disney trip or just for any day. Have a magical day.

D23 expo is approaching. So excited!!!

This Sunday I will be at the D23expo in Anaheim, CA. If you don’t know what D23 expo is, it’s basically a convention for Disney fanatics by Disney. Lots of great panels and legendary artists will be there.

I’ll be Cosplaying as Vanessa (Ursuala’s human form). So if you see me, say hi. I’m pretty proud of my costume. I made it myself. First time making a bodice with boning and thankful I had a friend that gave me some step by step instruction. In the end it turned out great. I’ll be posting a tutorial on what patterns I used to create it later on.

Who else is going to D23 expo? What are you dressing up as?

Thanks for reading! Have a magical day!

Hogwarts virtual race at Disneyland

This past Friday was Harry Potter’s birthday and what better way to celebrate it is by doing a Hogwarts virtual race at Disneyland. I’ve mentioned the Hogwarts Running Club  in a previous post. If you aren’t familiar with them you sign up, they send you your medal, and you do your miles anywhere and anytime.

We signed up for the Department of Mysteries 6.2442 race and decided to do our race in California Adventure and Disneyland.  So two Hufflepuffs, a Slytherin, and a Ravenclaw finished and took a picture with a mouse.

Minnie and medals

I also took a picture by the castle.

here is a close up of the medal

It was a lot of fun. I already signed up for the next virtual race Platform 9 3/4k race.  The race cost 28.25 including the service fee. I highly recommend doing them and sign up quickly before it sells out. Here is the medal you’ll receive.

Disneyland 60th celebration.

This past Friday, July 17th,  Disneyland celebrated it’s 60th birthday. I must admit Disneyland keeps getting better with age and goes to show it’s forever young.

I decided to camp over night with my friend Kaitlyne. We got in line about 10:20 pm. We were moved to three different location throughout the night. Finally we got to go in. I was in the first 100. We all received buttons. This was a bit disappointing since the 24 hour party received ears. Now the actually 60th should have received ears as the 50th did. I still have my 50th ears. The date is embroidered on the back.

I decided to Disneybound as the old Orange Grove of Anaheim.  I got inspired by a clip from the fireworks in which orange groves are projected on the side of the building and they mention how before there was Disneyland there were the Orange Groves.

The dress is from Pinup girl clothing. The Orange ears hat is from  Hat and mouse  and the Mickey ballon purse from Sarah’s cutesy skirts.

My friend was lucky to secure a reservation on the Lily Belle. If you haven’t heard what the Lilly Belle is, it’s a beatiful presidential train car that isn’t always running and has limited reservation spots. If you get to disneyland first thing when it opens run to the train station and try to grab a reservation. You won’t be disappointed.

We got to sit where Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp have sat.  Best thing of riding the Lily Bell besides being In a beautiful train car, you also get a commemorative ticket to remember the special day.

For the rest of the day we walked around and enjoyed the sites and took lots of pictures.

Free cupcakes were giving out to celebrate the day.

Richard Sherman played Feed the Birds on the piano. How awesome.

Took a picture with the Dapper Dammes.

And some Dapper Dans.

It was a fun day!!

Best part I later found out that I was mentioned in Dinsey Style as one of the favorite outfits of the 60ths. Here is the article which also features so many other fabulous outfits.  Favorite outfits of the 60th
