Disneyland comes to Sherman Oaks with “That’s from Disneyland”

IMG_8669That’s from Disneyland is an amazing FREE pop exhibit by the Van Eaton Galleries open to the public featuring treasures and artifacts for all around the lands and hotel of Disneyland. The amazing memorabilia collection from Richard Kraft will be up for auction August 25 and 26, 2018. Yes, you can own a piece of Disneyland history for the right price, hope you’ve saved up your Disney Dollars. Of course even if you aren’t planning on purchasing anything you can still check out this amazing exhibit. Disclaimer you will have tons of photo opportunities so be prepared. I Disneybounded as a 50s Wendy Darling with a skirt I made and accessorized with a ballon pop corn bucket for a purse.

The Gallery is divided into lands just like Disneyland. Main Street U.S.A, Frontierland, Adventureland, Tomorrowland, New Orleans Square, and Fantasyland.

Mains Street, USA still has small town charm with old maps, window displays, and even a vehicle that once rode down the boulevard of the magic place.

Tame the west including some critters in Frontierland. canoes, posters, and some signs from Country Bear Playhouse can be seen.

Glide on over to New Orleans Square for some haunting and pirating. You’ll die over the photo ops there. Take some photos with the stretching portraits in the grave yards.

Blast off into Tomorowland with Rockets, People Mover, and fun memorabilia from the world of Tomorrow.

And if the future doesn’t look too bright, escape to Fanstasyland where elephants and ships Fly, the children of the world sing one song that means friendship, and everyone lives happily ever after.

And last but not least take some silly pictures with a sea creature before you head to check out the gift shop.

Star Wars Half marathon weekend

Another race has come and gone and it was a blast.

It all started this past Thursday with packet pickup.

The line for the expo merchadise was very long , but thankfully they had Star Wars playing. I saw the end of Empire Strikes back and the beginning of Return of the Jedi.

Finally I was in the area for merchadise. Lots of cool things but I just bought a magnet, pin, and wine glass.

In the actual expo there were more opportunities to buy more merchadise. I was good and didn’t, just picked up my race shirt. Which I think was awesome.

I did stop by the New Balance shoes and check out the new designs for this year. They are so cute and I might get a pair later this year.

Now to rest, in a few days I would be running in the Star Wars half.

For the race itself I wanted to do a mashup. I had done Anna for the Princess half but thought I would make a robe and belt and turn it into a Jedi Anna costume. I was sewing the day before the race.  Here’s the finished outfit.

The race started early in the morning it was very cold and I was still not recovered from bronchitis, but I ran to the best of my abilities.

Waiting in the corral
It was very foggy and misty during the race and my lungs were in pain so stopping to take pictures and catch my breath was a must. I literally had a coughing fit along the course. Being sick and running a half isn’t easy, but it is possible. There were so many cosplayers out on the streets cheering us on. It was awesome. And I heard so many people shout “go Anna” which gave me strength to continue. Thanks to the highschool bands and cheerleaders and community that come out race after race to support the runners. You guys are amazing.

 There are Stormtroopers behind me??

Here is a closer look at the medal. I’m glad I stuck with it. If you are interested in doing a Disney race check out run disney they have 5k, 10ks, halfs , and even a full in Disney World. Thanks for reading and I hope this inspires you to sign up for a race and maybe even wear a costume.

Have a magical day!

Happy 4th from Captain America

Hope everyone is having a great 4th whether you’re  in the States or not 🙂 I decided to celebrate America’s birthday by Disneybounding as Captain America,  the girly version. The dress is from Hot Topic Her Universe clothing line. My Avengers pin is from disney. A cute bow I bought at a geek fair and ballon purse from Sarahs curtesy skirts.

I headed to Disneyland to  get a picture with the famous super hero. He definitely approved of my outfit.

I even got one with Thor don’t ever tell him that Loki is your favorite :/ He was offended. I told him I did like him…”Umm you have a good body” lol

Oh and red, white and blue desserts were had. A 60th celebration cupcake (lemon with a raspberry filling) and a Raspberry Rose macaroon fillies with whole raspberries. Mmm so yummy.

After dessert I got to see my favorite mainstreet performers the Dapper Dans.

I was so happy I got a picture with them. I  love their red, white, and blue dapper outfits.

It was a great day even though I was there for just a bit. I did manage to get some sparkly 60th ears. I love that they are blue. I love blue.

It was a great way to start the 4th. Do you dress up for the 4th? Do you have a favorite superhero.
Hope everyone had a great fourth!

Vintage Minnie Disneybound

I recently bought the most darling Fascinator from Hat and mouse, it’s Vintage Minnie inspired. I thought it would go perfect with a Blue and white polka dot dress I bought years ago. It would make the most perfect bound. I paired it up with yellow heels. Note when wearing heels at Disney take some fast flats with you. I bought a pair at the Target. They are foldable ballet like slippers and are a lifesaver when wearing heels or breaking in new shoes.

I spent my time Disneybounding in California Adventure. I went to the Mad T party. Which is a must to see.

I even got to hangout with some new friends.

I even got a picture with Mickey at the end of the night.

It was a great day and I received so many compliments on my Minnie bound. Hope this inspires you to bound yourself or if not definitely check out the Mad T party. Have a magical day. Thanks for reading.

Star Wars Half Marathon Weekend Registration sign up – my heart attack this morning

It’s more than 7 months away, but pre-registration for the Star Wars Half Marathon for annual pass holders already occurred and I thought I was going to have a heart attack during sign up. I ran the inaugural half this year with friends. It was so much fun. I dressed up as R2D2, my friend as Chewy, and her fiancé as Luke.

I have a system that I have done for a year or two that has worked. I’m in front of my computer by 15 minutes before registration opens. All signed up through the annual pass page and just before it hits the registration time I hit refresh and boom I hit the page link and I’m in. All of that was going well this morning except when I went to the RunDisney page and hit the link to sign up for the Star Wars Half marathon and only abblank page would open. What the hell? I was seriously getting worried. Lucky I had my phone by me  and signed up through there. Which to tell you the truth is not the same. I hate typing on touch screen and double checking that I didn’t accidentally type something wrong, because I always manage to do that. In the end I successfully signed up for the Star Wars half marathon.

I was curious why my computer wasn’t working properly. So on a hunch I downloaded the latest version of Flash. Sure enough that was the problem. So next time I will make sure to have all my updates done before sign up.

If you are interested in signing up for any of the races for the Star Wars half marathon week, registration opens to the public on June 16th (12 pm eastern or 9 amPacific ). You can go to the RunDisney page for more information. Tip on registration, be sure to be at your computer 15 minutes before registration with the link open and hit refresh a minute before or on the actual sign up time.  Have your credit/debit card in front of you too. You don’t want to be searching for it last minute or digging through your purse. Trust me, it saves time.

Hope those who are thinking about doing a RunDisney race sign up for the Star Wars one. They have all levels from kids, 5k, 10k, to half. They are so much fun and the medals are pretty awesome. Thanks for reading and “may the force be with you” during sign up!

Belle goes to Be Our Guest and France

On my last day at Disney World I went Disney Bouding as Belle. I bounded as village Belle on my last trip. I wrote a blog post on that bound. This time I was going as ballroom Belle. I found a cute yellow dress at Forever 21 and gold flats at Steve Madden and a Belle bow I got at a craft fair.

I was very happy I snagged a lunch reservation for Be Our Guest restaurant! I’ve eaten there once before for lunch and the food is delicious and fairly reasonably priced for the quantity.  The only bad thing, getting reservations is difficult, try getting them several months before you go.

at the entrance to Be our guest

There are three dinning rooms to choose from

the grand ballroom

the west wing

and the gallery room

I picked the West Wing this time. It’s small, but dark and mysterious. During the time there you can hear and see a lighting storm.

The food was delicious I got the tuna salad and my mom got the quiche and French onion soup. Of course we also ordered the master cup cake, with the grey stuff. It’s delicious.

Try the grey stuff , it’s delicoius

leaving Be our Guest

Now to meet Gaston. Always try to line up 30 mins to 45 mins before Gaston comes out to insure you get a photo with him.

Had a lovely time at the Magic Kingdom now on to EPCOT specifically France, home to Belle. In EPCOT they have Village Belle, which I love.

Belle and Belle

After France I went to the UK and hung out with Alice

She loved my dress and asked if I was going to a tea party?

It was a fun day at Disney World and I miss it already. Have you ever Disneybounded before? And if you have or haven’t what character do you want to bound as next?  Thanks for reading! Have a magical day!
